The life and appearance of your Shademakers umbrella will be enhanced if you follow a few simple guidelines:

1. Hose or rinse the aluminum mast and frame periodically with fresh water. This should be done more frequently if you are in a salty or industrial environment.

2. Lubricate the track and slider car mechanism with silicon-based lubrication frequently to enhance the ease of operation.

3. You may remove marks from the 100% solution dyed acrylic canvas by washing with clean warm water. Rinse canopy once in a while so dirt does not become engrained.
No soaps, detergents, cleaning fluids or solvents should ever be applied to the fabric.

4. Inspect the installation fitting on a regular basis, and tighten as necessary.

Should the canopy need to be removed for repair or replacement:

(a) Leave your Shademakers umbrella in the folded position.

(b) Remove canopy tension screw on the main support arm near the mast.

(c) Remove the arms from the canopy pockets.

(d) Undo stainless steel screw from main top support arm and the large strap.
CAUTION: Canopy will tend to fall forward once this screw is removed.

(e) Take canopy off.

Helpful Hints

Each Shademakers design is engineered to withstand different levels of wind. Even if your Shademakers umbrella is rated for moderate to strong winds, the umbrella should be collapsed and the straps secured in uncertain weather conditions. Common sense applies. It is advisable to leave even the strongest Shademakers umbrella in a secure position when unattended, particularly at night, over a weekend or when on vacation.

Please be advised that the Shademakers warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, wind, or wrongful use of the product. Read all instructions carefully to properly install and operate your Shademakers umbrella. Once installed, apply common sense wind guidelines: if it is too windy to be outside enjoying the day under your umbrella, lower the canopy.
